At Neosho

Bradyn Porter, writer

Friday night, the MHS football team played against the Neosho Wildcats at Neosho. The pep bus took around 50 people to the game, to motivate the Jays to beat the number two ranked Wildcats. Unfortunately, the MHS football team lost, leading to the end of their season, only losing 3 games and winning 8 games.

The game was never close, losing 35 – 7. Who scored our only touchdown? Senior number 20, Truett Gardner, with a 20 yard catch by Senior quarterback number 12, Brock Utecht. Gardner then stated, “The touchdown felt great but it was not enough to get the win.”

It was a very emotional night, as 17 seniors took their shoulder pads and helmet off for the last time. Senior Austin Porter said, “I can’t believe that I have taken my helmet and shoulder pads off for the final time.”

Each of them are blessed to have played with such great teammates, coaches, and to have played for the city of Marshfield. Thank You Seniors.
