On Tuesday, Feb. 5, the boys basketball team played against Mt. Vernon. The game was up and down between Marshfield and Mt. Vernon, in the end Marshfield lost by 54-57.

The game was head to head most of the time. Marshfield was winning until Mt. Vernon made an unexpected shot, putting them ahead of Marshfield. It was 52-52 and the game was tied, with 40 seconds left in the fourth quarter. The game went into overtime and the other team ended up scoring by making four free throws. This put them ahead by a few points, but sadly not enough to win.

Triston Letterman scored his 1000 point during the game. In the fourth quarter he finally made the shot he needed to get his 1,000 point, a layup. Chuck Cooksey made an announcement to congratulate him and the whole crowd was cheering as loud as they could. Triston Letterman said, “It’s a goal that I have wanted since freshman year and it felt good to complete it.”
