MHS Football @ Catholic

On Friday, September 14, the Bluejays Varsity football team battled against the Catholic Fighting Irish and fell 41 – 20. The Blue Jays are now 2 – 2 and 2 – 1 in our new Big-8 conference. Senior linebacker Clay Wilson quoted, “We didn’t have that great of defense that night and we could do better. We didn’t go to the right spots and we couldn’t make tackles.”

On the first drive of the game, Marshfield marched 80 yards to score. Senior quarterback Brock Utecht ran for a six yard touchdown. Following that senior Jarrett Meyer, who also plays soccer, kicked it 30 yards to make the extra point good. Unfortunately, Catholic scored 22 points straight after that and Marshfield went into halftime down 22 – 7. After that, Catholic scored again to make it 29 – 7.

Not really a good week for MHS football but they look to beat the Hollister Tigers this week and it’s also Homecoming week.

The pep bus carried 50 people to the game.
