Back in September, I gave my opinions on some of the songs from Sabrina Carpenter’s award winning album “Short n’ Sweet.” On Valentine’s Day, Carpenter released “Short n’ Sweet Deluxe,” featuring four new songs and a feature from Dolly Parton on one of them.
As a follow up on my previous review I decided to rank, and give my opinion on, all four songs.
In 4th place out of the new songs is “Please Please Please (feat. Dolly Parton).” I love Sabrina Carpenter and I love Dolly Parton but I feel like the two’s voices just don’t mix that well, and from what I’ve seen many people online share the same sentiment that I have.
Next in my ranking I have “15 minutes.” This song is a huge step up compared to the last one, and honestly it was a hard pick between the other three songs. This song is really catchy and fun to listen to, but I love the other ones just a little more.
In 2nd is “Busy Woman,” which was actually previously teased back in August shortly after the release of the main album. “Busy Woman” barely lost first place, it’s such a good song. Similar to “15 minutes,” the song is really catchy, and honestly the two are somewhat similar, but I just enjoy the lyrics more.
Lastly, my favorite song of them all is “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder.” I’m not usually a huge fan of ballads but this one’s just a major stand out to me. I really enjoy all the lyrics and just the way everything goes. It was an instant favorite from day 1 and I think it will be for a long time.
