This year we’ve got a handful of new teachers. Ayshia Bettlach teaches Modern American History and World History. As well as joining the staff to teach, she coaches girl’s basketball with Trish Marsh. She taught her first year at Reeds Spring before coming here for her second year of teaching. While choosing a school to teach at, Bettlach said Marshfield’s value and mission matches her own.

There’s not one thing she isn’t looking forward to this year, in fact, she said, “I’m prepared to take on anything. Embrace the sucky things!” One thing she is looking forward to this school year is the girl’s basketball season.

Outside of school, Bettlach likes to work out, watch sports, read books, go to the lake, and play guitar. An interesting fact about her is that she’s to lake surf, which is surfing on the lake waters of the Midwest. Instead of swimsuits, you have to wear gear that is warmer due to the water being very cold temperatures.
