Snow Day Recap

On Thursday, February 28 the Marshfield School District had their third snow day. The school day will be made up on May 17, which will also be the last day of the school year.

“I enjoy getting cozied up in bed and watching Netflix while snacking, but my favorite part is that I don’t have to make them up since I am a senior!” said Ashleigh Matney, student at Marshfield High School.

The Superintendent sent out a message on the Marshfield App, which you can download in the app store for android and IOS devices to receive updates about school cancellations and other important information. The message was sent out at 5:18 AM.

The message said:

“Good morning- this is Superintendent David Steward. Due to slick road conditions in parts of the district, Marshfield R-1 classes are canceled for Thursday, February 28. Today will be made up on May 17. Have a good day Blue Jays!”

The high for February 28, was 27 degrees and the low was 24 degrees. Roads were covered in a sheet of ice, which made it hard for buses and cars to travel. The district administrations made a choice to keep students indoor and safe instead of travelling to school to that morning and home after school.
