Veterans Day Assembly

Marshfield High School held a Veterans Day assembly on Mon, Nov. 12. The assembly was to honor all veterans. The band played a few songs to honor and make the experience better. They played the songs Hope Honor Freedom, America the Beautiful, Let Freedom Ring and of course, The Star Spangled Banner. Senior Kollin Bailey spoke at the veterans assembly and did a great job. He stated that, “I thought it went really well. I think it is important we see that the freedom we take for granted wasn’t free and I think it’s important that we recognize our community members who were willing to risk their lives for us.”

After the assembly students prepared a lunch for all the veterans. FCCLA made it a top priority to prepare a nice meal so the veterans could sit, talk, and enjoy their lunch. FFA volunteered to serve the lunch after FCCLA made it.  Mrs. Houk, one of our teachers here at MHS, ate lunch with her husband, who is a veteran. The whole first half of the day was spent honoring and thanking the veterans.
