KTTS: Donating Christmas

KTTS: Donating Christmas

Remington Richerson, Writer

Over the course of November and December, a lot of radio stations, churches and other organizations throughout the world host donating events so people can provide a Christmas for their families. One major organization that advertises donating events is 94.7 “Today’s KTTS”. They give listeners multiple different donating options, some including the Crosslines Holiday Center, KTTS Christmas Crusade and multiple other Cox Health volunteer opportunities.

The Crosslines Holiday Center, according to their website, “offers several holiday programs to serve the needs of our community. Crosslines is the largest food pantry in Greene County, and we offer more than just holiday assistance. In 2016, our programs combined to serve nearly 70,000 people.” The toy store gives brand-new, unused toys to children who may not be able to receive anything for Christmas. They also provide Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to families who may not otherwise be able to provide for their children. So far, they have provided over 30,000 toys and 26,949 holiday meals.

The KTTS Christmas Crusade is advertised throughout November and December by 94.7 and is a huge provider of food, clothes, presents and they host “family adoptions.” During a “family adoption,” adoptees get the option to pick from a variety of families within Green, Wright, Webster, Dade and surrounding counties. Each family provides information about each other their children and their needs and even just household necessities that they need provided to them.
