Teacher Spotlight: Heather Leavitt

Heather Leavitt, an avid Harry Potter and Doctor Who lover, began teaching at Marshfield High School on Aug. 17 after she had taught at a private school, Halstrom Academy, in Beverly Hills, Cali. for a year and a half. Leavitt went to college at the University of Los Angeles where she studied math. She is currently working towards her Masters in Education at Missouri State University. After moving to Missouri from Los Angeles about a year and half ago, she moved into a 100 year old house, which she is currently remodeling alongside her husband, four cats and dog.

When asked why she decided to become a teacher, Leavitt answered, “I became a teacher because I love learning and I’ve always wanted to help kids.”
