May brought back Night of the Arts. Art teacher Faith Day has revamped a similar art event from previous years, transforming it to a showcase of student skills and activities, inviting student artists, musicians, performers, poets, and fashion designers to come and showcase their talents.
This event was hosted to give our artists the opportunity to sell their creations or show their passion and specialties including paintings, clay sculptures, dinnerware and many other creations and activities including booths from some of our school Art clubs where all funds will be donated to our different high school clubs and extracurricular classes.
The event also featured silent auctions where people can bid on novelty items made by students and club members here in our own high school. Any pieces that weren’t bid on were returned to the students that made them. The clubs that participated in the Night of the Arts event were the Creative Journaling Club and Art Club. The Brew Jays also sold coffee and contributed coffee art during Night of the Arts.
During the event there were various activities from fairy wand decorating, face painting and handdrawn coloring pages to a live picture drawing booth and clay throwing demonstrations to help give guests more fun and interesting things to do during the event.
