To start off the new year, the musical department welcomes director Gina LeRoy to her first year at Marshfield High School. She already has a busy hand with the fall musical, Centerstage, as well as teaching the stagecraft and drama classes.
LeRoy was born and raised in Georgia and went to college in Columbus, Georgia. She came to Missouri to look for more job opportunities and was delighted to find one at the Marshfield School District.
She is most excited to form relationships with new students and grow through the year. As well as getting to watch the musicals and plays come to life on stage.
“I think it’ll all be a really good learning experience. It’ll be challenging in some really good ways that will push me and I embrace that,” said LeRoy about her new job.
Outside of school LeRoy can be found in the theater working on the musical, whether it is looking in the props and costume closets or working on staging. When she eventually gets free time, she loves spending time with friends, traveling and walking her miniature poodle, Charlie.
