With the beginning of the 2023 school year, we’ve seen many new faces among our students and staff. Among them is Bailee Nunn. Nunn is a paraprofessional, head boys and girls swim coach, and outside of school is a private swim lessons instructor.
Before coming back to teach, Nunn was a student at Marshfield High School. After graduation, she worked as an assistant swim coach at University of Lynchburg in Virginia, which is known for its athletic excellence. She came back to Marshfield to be a swim instructor and also took the job of paraprofessional. A paraprofessional (para) is a teacher’s aid, who works alongside teachers in classrooms and helps teach students, or can work one on one with a student who needs extra help.
“This is my hometown and where I grew up. I wanted a chance to give back to my community, and help grow an athletic program that I didn’t really have when I was in high school.“ Said Nunn.
With her spare time, Nunn is an avid reader and painter. She also once got to swim in a lane with competitive and Olympic swimmers Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte.
