Eagle is now a Blue Jay
Getting to know Marshfield’s Newest English Teacher
September 6, 2017
On August 17, 2017 Desirae Eagle began teaching at Marshfield High School. Eagle graduated from Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in English Education. Prior to teaching at Marshfield, Eagle was a student teacher at Pleasant Hope.
Eagle teaches English II, English III, and Applied Communications for seniors. When asked why she wanted to teach English Eagle said, “My English teachers were basically the ones who really wanted to know me, and writing is such a creative endeavor and it is so self expressive. I wanted to take how my English teachers connected with me and to connect with other high school students.”
Eagle was born in St. Louis, Missouri. When she is not teaching she enjoys kayaking/canoeing, playing the bass guitar, and hanging out with friends. Her favorite movie is the Breakfast Club and, if you ever want to be on her good side, her favorite candy is Twix.
If Eagle could go anywhere in the world she would go to Greece. “They just have a lot of history…and it would be cool to see all the different architecture.”
