The inauguration of the United States President is the moment where the presidential candidate that was voted into office actually becomes The President of the United States. They say the presidential oath under a holy book.
The oath is “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Sometimes they add the words “So help me God” because George Washington said that at his inauguration.
President Trump’s inauguration was held inside due to the extreme cold conditions on the day of the inauguration. A lot of people said they would have still gone outside during the inauguration. But President Trump cited Former President Ronald Reagan’s second inauguration as his defense because he also did his inside.
After the inauguration they did the inauguration parade inside at the Capital One arena where Donald Trump signed many executive orders and made a speech on how there will be “a golden age in America”. Citing cheaper gas, low inflation, and cheaper groceries for everyone.
A former journalism student from Marshfield went to the inauguration and took pictures for CNN! His name is Tristen Rouse. You can see his photos and others here.
