The movie “The House With a Clock in Its Walls”, came out on September 21, 2018. The movie was directed by Eli Roth. It is about a ten year old boy named Lewis who goes to live with his uncle Jonathan after his parents die. The house they live in keeps making a weird tick-tock noise. He then finds out that his uncle and neighbor are magic. Lewis then awakens the dead and the town gets a little less quiet.

Lewis comes across a guy named Isaac Izard who is an evil wizard who wants to cause an apocalypse. He wants to cause it so that he can see what happens afterwards. His idea was to make a clock with black magic and the clock will keep ticking, counting down the day until the apocalypse. He died before he finished the clock but he hid it in the house that uncle Jonathan now lives in. Now Lewis and Jonathan have to find the clock before anything bad happens, and before Isaac’s wife gets to it.

Some of the main actors in this movie are Jack Black as uncle Jonathan, Owen Vaccaro as Lewis Barnavelt, Kyle Maclachlan as Isaac Izard, Cate Blanchett as Florence Zimmerman, and Renee Elise Goldsberry as Selene Izard. All of these actors play an important role in the movie. The movie is also based off a 1973 novel wrote by John Bellairs.

The movie is comedy and mystery filled. It is pretty funny, but can get creepy at times. This movie has 6.3 out of 10 stars, it is doing pretty good. Some people have complained that it is too scary for young audience members. Overall it is a pretty good movie and has got a lot of good feedback.
