NBA Playoffs

The Playoffs for the National Basketball Association (NBA) started April 14, 2018 and the first team in every series to win four games, wins the series. The seeds of the teams in the Western Conference are number 1 Houston Rockets led by the 6’5 220 lb league’s leading scorer James Harden, vs. number 8 Minnesota Timberwolves led by the 6’8 236 lb 4 time All Star shooting guard Jimmy Butler.  Houston currently leads the series 3-1. There’s the number 2 Defending Champions, Golden State Warriors led by 6’10 240 lb 9 time All Star Kevin Durant vs. number 7 San Antonio Spurs Led by power forward (PF) lamarcus Aldridge. Golden State leads 3-1. Number 6 seed New Orleans Pelicans swept the Portland Trail Blazers 4-0 and PF Anthony Davis led his team in everything. And then there’s the number 4 seed OKC Thunder led by the brodie, Russell Westbrook against the number 5 seed Utah Jazz. Series is tied 2-2.

In the Eastern Conference, there’s the number 1 seed Toronto Raptors, against the number 8 seed Washington Wizards. Series is tied 2-2. Number 2 seed Al Horford and the Boston Celtics faces off against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. Number 3 seed Philadelphia 76’ers Led by Rookie Ben Simmons battles against number 6 seed Miami Heat leb by 6’5 shooting guard and 8 time all star Dwyane Wade. Series is led by the 76’ers 3-1.

That leaves the number 4 seed Cleveland Cavaliers led by arguably the best player in the world Lebron James who has been to seven straight NBA finals. Facing off against Most Improved Player shooting guard Victor Oladipo and the Indiana Pacers. Series is tied 2-2.

For the past three years, the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers have been to the finals and this year, freshman Sidney Lillard quoted, “I think the Raptors will win the finals against the Houston Rockets.” UPDATE : last night April 24, 2018, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Golden State Warriors advanced to the next round and the Miami Heat, and the San Antonio Spurs are out of the playoffs. Celtics went up 3-2 against the Milwaukee Bucks.
