On Thursday March 29, the Major League Baseball began the brand new season that is sure to bring lots of big moments and memories that’ll last forever. There was lots to look forward to on Thursday with plenty of big acquisitions being brought to new teams and they did not disappoint. One of the biggest ones was Giancarlo Stanton who plays for the New York Yankees. The reigning MVP was traded this winter from the Miami Marlins to the New York Yankees which was a blockbuster deal that shook the MLB. Stanton went 2 for 4 in his Yankees debut with 2 home runs.

Junior MHS baseball player Truett Gardner, gave his input on how he felt about opening day. “I am ready for it. My favorite team is the Cardinals and I think they’re going to be good this year.”

It was an exciting day for baseball all over the country, as it was a start to the new season and for the players and a new start.
