Friday, Jan. 19 was supposed to be Rally Day, a night of cheers, fun, laughter and dancing, but turned into a night of staying home and doing homework. Due to bad weather leading up to Friday, the dance was forced to be rescheduled.

On Monday, Jan. 15, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, it began to snow early that morning and did not stop until later that night. The snow resumed Tuesday morning and did not stop until late that night. Marshfield, Missouri ended up getting a little over 3 inches of snow, which caused Marshfield High School to be closed Tuesday through Thursday and resumed session Friday, Jan. 19.

“I felt bummed because I was looking forward to having a good time with my friends,” said junior Arissa Rust.

John Gray, a senior at Marshfield High School, is the student body president, which means that he oversees all of student council, as well as student cabinet. According to Gray there is also some good news that came out of it being rescheduled.

Gray said, “A pro is this will allow for a full week of ticket sales, which will hopefully increase the attendee turnout.”

Due to the students of Marshfield High School being out of school everyday that week, only to return Friday, they would of had to buy their ticket for the dance that day, to go after the game that night. With the good there is also some bad.

Grey said, “A con is if this rescheduled date gets cancelled again due weather, we will not have a Rally Day dance.”

“It wouldn’t really matter at this point. They pushed it back so far that I kind of lost interest in going,” said Rust.

It’s going to be so much fun to hangout with my friends and dance.

The Rally Day dance was rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 9. Tickets will be on sale from Monday, Feb. 5 through Friday, Feb. 9.

Freshman Alyssa Mitchell said, “I’m hyped for it! I can’t wait! It’s going to be so much fun to hangout with my friends and dance.”

Due to the snow days school will be in session on President’s Day Mon, Feb. 19 and summer vacation will be delayed two days. Senior’s will finish May 11 no matter how many snow days are added.
