Salute the Troops

On Friday Nov. 10, the Marshfield High School held an assembly to honor all the veterans that have served for our country. The band played every branch’s song and as each branch was announced by the MHS student body president, senior, John Gray. After being announced the veterans who served in that branch stood up. As they stood, the student body clapped thanking them for their service to the country.

Looking at the rows of veterans in uniform they were laughing and crying with each other bringing up past memories. Throughout the crowd both teachers and students were also shedding tears.

After the assembly, the school provided the veterans with brunch that was prepared by Pat Boshe and her Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) club members.

It’s a nice ending to wonderful assembly that the high school holds to honor our veterans. I have noticed more veterans in attendance which is great.” said Boshe.

The MHS student body and faculty thanks the veterans for their service to our country. Thanks to our veterans we truly are the land of the free and the home of the brave.
